Is Your Middle School Child Struggling with Math?

Does your child dread doing math lessons?

Maybe each middle school math lesson ends with frustration (or tears)?

Does your child begin math assignments confidently and end up getting many problems wrong?

My son tried very hard to understand math concepts and complete his assignments, but regardless of which curriculum or teaching method I tried (including math games), I still had a child struggling with math.

Is Your Middle School Child Struggling With Math - Education Possible

Several months ago I shared the story of our math struggles and after much thought and research we decided to start over with math. My children were entering their teen years, high school was on the horizon, and it didn’t seem we had many other options.

ENTER the Learn Math Fast GIVEAWAY below!

Here is our update, thanks to the Learn Math Fast curriculum:

  • We are very pleased with our decision to start over!
  • The material is presented in a way that is practical yet very comprehensive.
  • Before this program my son couldn’t learn his multiplication tables. He thought he was alone with this challenge and he was embarrassed to admit it. Now his addition and multiplication skills (and confidence) are greatly improved!
  • My kids are “caught up” and prepared for high school level Algebra.
  • The best part – they LOOK FORWARD to math lessons with Learn Math Fast. I never thought I would utter those words!

* Note – We will complete books 1-4 in 1 year, but realize that everyone’s experiences will be different.  This system is flexible which is a great feature!  My kids have asked to continue with this program next year (we are using the code below to save $5 on our next order) so we will keep you updated on our progress and results.

If your middle school (or high school) child is struggling with math, we invite you to learn more about the Learn Math Fast curriculum.

Learn Math Fast System

The Learn Math Fast System is created by JK Mergens, a homeschool mom of a child who struggled with math in middle school and now has earned a BS in Engineering.

The Learn Math Fast System is a series of seven math books that present math in such a way that students go from 3 + 2 to Algebra 2 in record time.  Older students can complete the series in about a year, while younger students will take a few years to get up to Algebra.  Thousands of families across the globe are using this system and the results have been staggering.

  1. I would love to give Learn Math Fast a try….math is my weakest subject and I think my kiddos have inherited this. Anything that can help my kids and ME get a better handle on treaching math would be AMAZING!!

    1. Hi Brandy,

Thanks for entering to win one of my books. And don’t worry, it doesn’t matter if math is your weakest subject because you can learn right along with your children or just hand the books to your older child as they are self directing. The only skills you need before starting the Learn Math Fast System is the ability to read and write numbers and how to count. Everything else is explained in great detail. Happy Homeschooling!

  2. I have a daughter who really struggles with memorizing her multiplication tables. This might be the ticket!

P.S. – the tweet above is about a doll give away, not about this math program.

    1. Hi Joesette,

Thanks for entering the Giveaway! Please read my article, “Why Can’t my Child Learn Multiplication” on my website because multiplication may not be the root problem. Ask your daughter to answer 17 + 8 in her mind. Does she answer 25 within 2 seconds? If she can’t, then that’s the real problem. Volume 1 of the Learn Math Fast System can teach her how to sort numbers in her mind, making all future math so much easier!

  3. I’ve looked at this program before and thought “Maybe we’ll try it if what we’re using now doesn’t work.” My daughter really struggles with math, to the point where simply mentioning the word elicits moans and groans and teary eyes. I think it’s time!

    1. Hi Sonya,

Thanks for looking over the Learn Math Fast System. I think your daughter will enjoy the conversational tone and bits of humor I use to teach math. Many of my customers tell me that the tears are gone and math is now the favorite subject of their once struggling child. Give it a try; it comes with a money back guarantee!

  4. Starting over with math is something I’ve been afraid to do because it seems just so neat and tidy to just keep trucking through our curriculum. But it is clear that we have big gaps that would make life with math SO MUCH EASIER if we could go back and learn some basics! Need to look into this curriculum option. Thanks!

    1. Hi Gemma,

I know it’s a tough decision to start over from the beginning, but older kids can get through the first book in just a month or two (younger children take longer) and they will learn all kinds of neat tricks to make math fun and easy. Thanks for entering the Giveaway!

  5. Learn Math Fast would be awesome for my son! He likes math but hates the “practicing” part. This is so straight forward and easy to understand! Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. I have already been checking this out. My daughter REALLY needs this, we just can’t afford it right now. This would be a HUGE blessing! Thanks for the chance to win!

  7. My daughter still struggles with some of the math facts. I would love for her to have a more solid foundation in the facts.

  8. I would love to give this a try with my children. To tell you the truth I am the one with the math problem. My children are still struggling with math but I don’t know how to help them with their math problems and it makes me feel stupid and sad. I don’t know if this would help me more than them.

  9. As a new homeschoolef of 2 middle school students, the opportunity for this couldn’t have come at a better time than this for my family. Thank you.

  10. We just pulled my 4th grader from public school. He has been struggling for so long. We too have been focusing on multiplication facts but see now that that may not be where to start. What a blessing this would be for our family. Thank you.

  11. My son would really like this program. He likes math, just not the extreme repetition of most math curriculum. I think with Learn Math Fast, he could learn the concepts quickly and move on. Thank you!

  12. I would love to give this math curriculum a try. How would it help? Honestly, I am not sure. I have never heard of it before. However, I have one taking Algebra I and one taking Algebra II and neither one is very happy. Which means I’m not very happy. We are willing to try anything at this point.

  13. My middle school has adhd and dyslexia. Math is a real struggle for him and I’m hoping something new will help him.

  14. Hi! I will be homeschooling my daughter, Shelby, starting next school year. She will be entering 6th grade and I have to say that math is the one area I’m a little nervous about. It’s probably her weakest subject in school and it frustrates her tremendously. I’d love to give this program a try!

  15. My daughter needs all the help she can get with me as her “teacher”. I am the one who gets a sucker at the bank if my deposit slip is correct. Math has always intimidated me and we are about to embark on my jumping off point.

  16. My kids don’t like math & it’s hard to get them to even try. I overcame dyscalculia in school well enough to be my high school’s top math/science student & I also passed college calculus, but I have no idea how to motivate my kids.

  17. Thank you all for entering our Learn Math Fast Giveaway! The winner is Gemma — she was very excited about the news 🙂

We will continue to keep you posted on our progress with this very helpful program. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Susan
