This latitude and longitude scavenger hunt is an excellent way to get kids excited about world geography. It’s a helpful tool middle schoolers can use as they learn about latitude and longitude in geography class.
With this pdf, kids will use latitude & longitude coordinates to find 13 different countries. To make it less stressful for them, as they’re learning these mapping skills, I’ve only used degrees in this printable scavenger hunt. That way, they won’t have to worry about minutes and seconds while searching for the various countries.
After you download the pages, let your students work through the coordinates to figure out what country lies at each intersection. Once they’ve identified each country, they will unscramble the letters in the boxes to complete a geography riddle.

How to play:
- Give each student a scavenger hunt page and something to write with.
- Make sure everyone has access to a map or atlas.
- Students need to look at each set of coordinates and, using the map or atlas, figure out which country is located there. Once they figure out which country is at that latitude and longitude, they should write its name, one letter to a line, next to its coordinates.
- Then, tweens should take the letters found in the boxes and rearrange them to answer the geography riddle at the bottom of the page.
- Use the answer key to check the answers.
