The Fastest Route to Making Middle School the best years to homeschool

Most parents have a vision when they start homeschooling of happy, engaged children who can’t wait to learn. Laughter, deep discussions, and reading together on the couch. Of kids who listen intently and quickly learn everything you teach them.

Instead, they often realize that while rewarding, homeschooling is also hard, stressful, and sometimes boring.

They feel frustrated, tired, and sometimes think about giving up homeschooling all together.

Wouldn’t it be nice to talk to someone who knows the joys and challenges of homeschooling tweens/teens? Who can help you show your kids how much fun learning can be when you make it interactive? Someone who’s been in your shoes and can help you make the middle school years the best ones yet?

That’s where I come in.

I’ve been homeschooling for 11 years, from the very beginning of my children’s education. Homeschooling is all we’ve ever known and is a way of life for our whole family.

When my girls were young, it was easy. Our days were filled with crafts, stories, and field trips. But when middle school began, I tossed it all aside and moved to a traditional textbook approach to homeschooling. Big mistake. We were miserable.

Over the years, I’ve seen my two girls go from hating school to loving it after we ditched most of our textbooks and moved back to eclectic hands-on, project-based lesson plans.

Contrary to popular belief, I know there is great joy in homeschooling older kids and I want to help you transform your middle school years into something both you and your teen will love.

Why our Time Together is Valuable

There are a lot of misconceptions out there about homeschooling and middle school. But the truth is that homeschooling middle school doesn’t have to be complicated.

Here are some things I have heard from my clients:

  • I know textbooks are boring, but it’s what I’m comfortable with, so it’s easier to put the hands-on learning aside.
  • Do I have to focus on textbooks, lectures, and tests to get my child ready for high school?
  • I have no idea where to begin.
  • Our days have become so stressful. I would love to smile at the end of our homeschooling day.
  • My kids don’t seem to remember anything we learn.

Sound familiar?

There is another way. You don’t have to struggle, trying to figure it all out on your own. When you work with me as your coach, you just need to be open to new ideas and to follow through on the action steps we create together.
